From October 2010 the coverage of the tenancy deposit schemes will be extended to cover all properties with an annual rental of £100,00 as these will now be covered by Assured Shorthold Tenancies. All tenancies starting after October will now automatically be AST’s, those existing tenancies will also become AST’s and will also need to have their tenant’s deposits protected by on of the three approved schemes.
